Unigraphics Solutions Wins $800,000 Lansing Linde contract

Unigraphics Solutions has announced that Lansing Linde, a UK manufacturer of industrial forklift and warehouse trucks, has standardised on UGS’ high-end, fully integrated Unigraphics CAD/CAM/CAE software suite with several recent purchases valued at over $800,000.

Unigraphics was selected as the new 3-D CAD software standard to replace Lansing Linde’s existing CAD software at its offices in Basingstoke (Hampshire) and Blackwood (South Wales). The UGS solution was chosen for several reasons including its ability to compress overall product development time by enabling design collaboration and providing the capacity to model complex components and large assemblies in a more accurate and timely fashion.

The Unigraphics software suite also provides Lansing Linde’s design engineers with fully integrated facilities for solids, feature-based and freeform surfaces modelling, complex assemblies modelling and visualisation, sheet metal design and fabrication and detailed drafting.

In addition, the company is taking advantage of several of Unigraphics’ optional features such as electronic wire harness design and prototyping, kinematics analysis and design simulation of mechanical assemblies and the rapid prototyping interface.
