Aker Kvaerner awarded 100 million Euro boiler contract

Aker Kvaerner’s Pulp business has today been awarded a 100 million Euro contract to supply a boiler for a new greenfield pulp mill in Brazil.

Aker Kvaerner’s Pulp business has been awarded a 100 million Euro contract by Veracel Celulose to supply a boiler for the boiler island of a new greenfield pulp mill in Brazil.

Veracel Celulose, a 50/50 joint venture between Aracruz Celulose and Stora Enso Oyj, recently announced plans to build the mill in Bahia State in Eastern Brazil.

Kvaerner Power is to supply a RECOXTM recovery boiler rated at 4000 tons dry solids/day, and a HYBEXTM bubbling fluidised bed boiler rated at 81 MWth.

The design, project management and manufacturing of critical pressure parts will be done in Tampere, Finland. Local procurement, engineering and construction site management will be managed from the Aker Kvaerner do Brasil office in Curitiba.
