DuPont acquires BioSentry

DuPont has acquired the animal health business assets of BioSentry, a biosecurity company providing animal health prevention programs, for an undisclosed fee.

DuPont has acquired the animal health business assets of BioSentry, a biosecurity company providing animal health prevention programs in 50 countries.

Financial terms of the agreement, which will see BioSentry integrated into the DuPont Chemical Solutions Enterprise business, were not disclosed.

“The BioSentry business and team will expand our presence in the United States and in Latin America, strengthening our position as a leading partner for biosecurity solutions,” said DuPont Chemical Solutions Enterprise Vice President and General Manager Nick C. Fanandakis.

According to DuPont, the acquisition furthers the company’s strategy and positioning as a global leader in the safety and protection industry. In 2003, DuPont acquired UK-based Antec International, whose products are used to protect global food supplies from disease-causing agents such as Avian Flu and Foot and Mouth Disease and the public from pathogens such as the Norwalk-like virus.
