Rolls-Royce has won a contract to supply one RB211 6562 mechanical drive package to Fluor-AMEC for the Enfield development project, an offshore oil field located 25 miles offshore the North West Cape, West Australia.

Commissioned by Woodside Energy Limited, the A$1.5 billion development project involves an alliance between Fluor Corporation and AMEC who will perform front-end engineering and design work for the development of a Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) facility in the Woodside-owned Enfield oil field.

Rolls-Royce equipment will be installed on the new FPSO, driving a two-casing Dresser-Rand compressor, to provide well re-injection services for enhanced oil recovery. Operating in water depths of 2000 feet, the field will process up to 100,000 barrels of oil per day.

Shipment of the unit, which will be packaged at the Rolls-Royce Mount Vernon, Ohio facility, is scheduled for March 2005. The Enfield FPSO facility is scheduled to begin commercial service in late 2006.
