Outage contract for Fluor

Fluor has been awarded a contract to provide maintenance support services for major outage work at the Plant Barry coal-fired electric generating plant near Mobile, for Alabama Power.


Fluor Corporation has been awarded a contract to provide maintenance support services for major outage work at the Plant Barry coal-fired electric generating plant near Mobile, for Alabama Power. Contract value to Fluor was not disclosed and was booked in the company’s first quarter.



Under terms of the multi-year contract, Fluor will supply supervision and craft personnel to assist Alabama Power’s maintenance group in performing major repair outage work. Peak employment is expected to reach approximately 350.

Alabama Power is the second largest subsidiary of Southern Company, the USA’s largest generator of electricity. Through Southern Company Generation, Southern Company operates 276 generating units in 69 fossil plants.
