Cable contract

China Nuclear Power Engineering Company has awarded Prysmian Cables & Systems a €10m contract for the development, supply and installation of cables for two new power stations.


China Nuclear Power Engineering Company (CNPEC) has awarded Prysmian Cables & Systems a €10m (£7.8m) contract for the development, supply and installation of cables for two new power stations.



The K1 and K3 type cables will be for new power stations being built in Hongyanhe and Ningde in Liaoning and Fujian provinces respectively.



According to Prysmian, both types of cables are designed to be resistant to radiation exposure.



The cables will be manufactured in Prysmian’s French plant in Paron and in the new Chinese Tianjin factory. Delivery is expected over the next four years.
