Made in Sheffield(MiS) has named Rotherham-based KOSTAL as its landmark 100th member.

KOSTAL develops and manufactures advanced electronic, electro-mechanical and mechatronic products. The group has 28 locations in 15 countries worldwide and a work-force of around 11,000 people.

The Made in Sheffield mark allows Sheffield-based companies to declare credentials and support the city’s ongoing commitment to quality and excellence.

MiS chairman Charles Turner said: ‘For leading edge companies like KOSTAL, the MiS brand represents a unique mark of quality that is now recognised around the world.’
Kostal managing director Martin Wood added: ‘Being entitled to use the ‘Made in Sheffield’ descriptor makes a powerful statement, given Sheffield’s global reputation for manufacturing excellence.’

‘I also welcome the opportunity to share best practice with other members and hope that our reputation as a leading edge manufacturer will help to further strengthen the MiS brand.’
Manufacturing companies with a Sheffield postcode can apply to join the MiS brand. Current members range from tea and coffee maker Pollards to Chesterfield Special Cylinders and surgical blade manufacturer Swann Morton.
