Alstom set to supply parts for thermal power plant in Egypt

Alstom has secured an order worth approximately €90m (£70m) from the East Delta Electricity Production Company to supply equipment for a 650MW steam cycle thermal power plant in Suez, Egypt.

The plant — due to be commissioned in 2015 — will reportedly provide electricity to more than half-a-million people in the city and will also be connected to the National Grid.

The scope of the work involves the engineering, manufacturing, erection and commissioning of the steam turbine and generator, including auxiliaries such as the condenser and the delivery of spare parts.
