Tough I/O lives on the shop floor

Rockwell Automation has augmented its Flex family with the introduction of rugged distributed I/O, rated IP65/67.

Rockwell Automation has augmented its Flex family with the introduction of rugged distributed I/O, which is a fully modular, expandable I/O platform with up to 64 points per node and is rated IP65/67.

1798 FLEX Armor I/O is designed to be machine mountable, without an enclosure and can survive shop-floor applications where dust, grease, water, and other particulate material would easily damage standard equipment.

The system is available with 4, 6 and 8 slot base plates and communications modules, with both 12 and 18 mm connections available for DeviceNet and Profibus. Multiple DeviceNet messaging types, such as polled, cyclic and change of state are supported, as is Autobaud for self-configuration. Since no enclosure is required, it saves time and money during the installation phase of a project.
