Foster Wheeler wins generator supply deal

Engineering contractor Foster Wheeler has announced that a subsidiary of its Global Power Group has been awarded a contract by fuel company Sinopec Wuhan for the design and supply of three circulating fluidised-bed (CFB) steam generators for the Sinopec Wuhan Cogeneration Plant, as part of the the 800,000 ton/year Ethylene Project in central China’s Wuhan city.

Foster Wheeler will design and supply the 80MWe CFB steam generators and auxiliary equipment, and provide site-advisory services for the project.

The CFB steam generators, which are scheduled for commerical operation in the second quarter of 2010, will be designed to burn coal and petroleum coke while meeting all environmental requirements.

The terms of the agreement were not disclosed and the contract value will be included in the company’s second-quarter 2010 bookings.
