Composite Technology supplies ACCC Oslo conductor to SHETL

Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission (SHETL) has installed ACCC Oslo conductor from Composite Technology for a new line between St Fergus and Peterhead in the northeast of Scotland.

Installation of the conductor began in February 2011 and was successfully completed and the 11km line, which operates at 132kV, energised in May 2011.

SHETL claims it selected the ACCC 318mm2 Oslo conductor for this line because of its ability to run at higher temperatures than conventional conductors, bringing increased capacity to the line.
