MIRA reports third successive year of record turnover

International vehicle engineering and test consultancy MIRA achieved double-digit growth in 2011, marking a third successive year of record turnover, which rose by 12 per cent to £42m.

According to a statement, the financial performance reflects that the business’s strategy — of growing core engineering and testing services across multiple sectors while also expanding internationally — is one that has successfully identified the developing needs of global OEMs.

‘During 2011, conditions continued to improve across most of the industry sectors we trade in,’ said chief executive officer Dr George Gillespie. ‘Uninterrupted vehicle sales growth in key markets including China, India and Brazil, backed up by recovering vehicle sales in Europe and the US, prompted some aggressive investments and product developments from major manufacturers.’
