Centaur Publishing has announced that the C and I show will not take place in 2000. According to the Centaur Exhibition Group management, since the acquisition of the exhibition from Miller Freeman in April 1999, it has become increasingly clear that the current and future requirements of both visitors and exhibitors are changing. The current format of the exhibition could not easily accommodate these changes, and therefore C&I 2000 will not take place in May 2000.
Centaur has spent the last 7 months re-defining the profile of buyers, visitors and industry sectors. This has been a costly and time consuming exercise which has now provided key strategies to create a new, relevant event that will be of greater benefit to the industry as a whole. Centaur have therefore announced a new show – Integrated Manufacturing Solutions – that will be a far more comprehensive event – to be run in May 2001. Launch details will appear in April 2000.
Centaur has already established new partnerships and activities to drive this new event forward. New governmental links, association support, magazine partnerships and web developments will come into effect to create a truly unique event with a fresh approach.
Integrated Manufacturing Solutions will not be just another engineering exhibition. It will be a sales and marketing driven event heavily supported by The Engineer and the relevant stable of strong magazines that Centaur has built. The event is aimed to support the sophisticated and complex decisions that have to be made at senior level for manufacturing across the board.
