New Micro Manufacturing Exhibition MM Live 2008 Gets off to a Flying Start

Cheshire, UK, 4rd March 2008: The rapid take up of exhibition space for MMLive 2008 is testimony to the demand for a dedicated micro manufacturing exhibition. This exciting new Micro Manufacturing show will take place on 21/22 October 2008 at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, UK.

The organiser, Rapid News Publications plc, is delighted to confirm Rainford Precision Machines, Union Tool, and Kern Micro Feinwerktechnik as the show’s inaugural headline sponsors.

Also confirmed to exhibit are Rondol Technologies — micro injection moulding equipment, Rofin-Baasel — micro laser cutting technologies, Nikon Industrial Instruments — inspection & measurement, MicroBridge — contract micro manufacturing services, Laser Micro Machining — contract laser manufacturing services, Vision Engineering — inspection & measurement; and Spinner UK — micro cutting and grinding equipment.

Event Director, Mark Blezard, said, “We are also delighted to announce the presence of MINAM who have just confirmed their attendance at the show. MINAM (The European Technology Platform for Micro- and NanoManufacturing) have approximately 400 members from 27 countries in Europe and act as an exchange forum for the topics of industrial manufacturing, materials, equipment and components. Their attendance at MMLive brings a significant source of knowledge and expertise for both visitors and exhibitors to draw upon and adds great value to the overall show experience.”

Micro manufacturing is the production of small components and products, which have not been possible until the recent introduction of groundbreaking technologies and techniques in traditional manufacturing processes. These innovative techniques enable the manufacture of smaller and smaller components with incredible tolerances and accuracy.

To support the show, the organiser recently launched the complementary website www.micromanu.com and bi-monthly publication “Micro Manufacturing Magazine.” Within the first week of the website going live, several hundred accounts have already been opened from manufacturing professionals seeking further information from industry sectors such as: automotive, aerospace, medical and jewellery
