Washington engineer to expand

Washington, Tyne and Wear cylinder engineer Cylinder Service Centre has secured investment to move to larger premises, safeguarding jobs and creating new posts.

The move to a new 2,000m2 building is forecast to increase turnover by 60 per cent to around £2.8m, help secure new contacts and increase the workforce by 50 per cent to 48 over the next five years.

Founded in 1994, the company one of the UK’s largest specialists in the repair, design and manufacture of hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders and serves customers from car manufacturing, shipbuilding and offshore engineering sectors.

The move was supported by a £10,000 investment from North East England Investment Centre (NEEIC) which invests public funds from organisations such as RDA One NorthEast in companies that need the input of external advice and support.
