Digi-Key reports significant sales growth in 2010

Electronic components distributor Digi-Key has surpassed $1.5bn in global sales for the first time in 2010, representing a 64 per cent year-over-year sales increase for the company.

Digi-Key offers more than 1.8 million products from more than 470 brand-name manufacturers worldwide, as well as engineering knowledge and educational information to help customers successfully develop electronics.

According to the company, its international sales growth is primarily due to the fact that it offers the industry’s greatest breadth of electronic components for off-the-shelf delivery.

The largest annual 2010 sales gains were in Europe (120 per cent), Africa (118 per cent), Asia-Pacific (115 per cent) and the Middle East (78 per cent) over 2009 sales.
