Raytheon wins US Air Force contract for infrared systems

American military contractor Raytheon has been awarded a $42m (£25.8m) US Air Force contract for additional AN/AAQ-29A forward-looking infrared (FLIR) imaging systems for installation on Pave Hawk HH-60G helicopters.

The AN/AAQ-29A systems will replace the AN/AAQ-16 FLIR currently installed on US Air Force HH-60G helicopters.

Raytheon’s AN/AAQ-29A system is an FLIR imager with a systems electronic unit, which can support helicopter missions such as low-level navigation and surveillance.
