Siemens creates ‘centre of competence’ at Lincoln factory

Manufacturing in Lincoln has received a boost after engineering company Siemens announced plans to invest £5m in its city-centre factory, securing 140 jobs.

Siemens is continuing to drive towards global packaging to bring value closer to its customers, creating a new ‘centre of competence’ for its small gas-turbine range at its existing Ruston Works plant.

Plans for the £5 million city centre redevelopment were submitted to City of Lincoln Council last week.

The ‘centre of competence’ will operate alongside Siemens’ new turbine manufacturing business, which employs 900 people.
