Mott MacDonald set to design cooling system for power plant

Mott MacDonald has been appointed by MARG to design the seawater intake, outfall and circulating cooling system for a 500MW power plant located in Bhavnagar in the state of Gujarat, India.

Cooling water for the power plant is being provided by drawing seawater from the Gulf of Khambat, 5km to the south of the plant. MARG is designing, procuring, constructing and commissioning (EPCC) the INR2,400m (£29m) seawater intake, outfall and cooling water system for BECL.

Mott MacDonald will undertake detailed engineering of the seawater intake system, circulating cooling water system and onshore and offshore pipelines.
