Measurement Computing develops data acquisition boards for ISA, PCI and USB busses as well as software, including SoftWIRE, the only graphical programming system for Visual Studio. It has pitched its products as the low-cost alternative to National’s very own product line and still continues to do so on its web site here.
The company, founded in 1989, has more than 70 employees and markets its products worldwide through direct sales, a distribution network and the Worldwide Web.
The Measurement Computing business, as a wholly owned NI subsidiary, will continue to run its operation ‘as is’ out of Middleboro, MA.
“As the company is small relative to NI, we expect the acquisition to be earnings neutral in 2005 and to be modestly accretive to NI earnings in 2006,” said Alex Davern, NI’s CFO.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
