NEDA and ECA reveal merger agreement

The National Electronics Distributors Association (NEDA), which represents supplier-authorised distributors of electronic components and their manufacturer partners, and the Electronic Components Association (ECA), which represents designers, manufacturers and suppliers of passive and electromechanical electronic components, have announced an agreement to merge.

A merger transition team has been created to finalise details and, pending completion of the due diligence process, the association, to be named the Electronic Components Industry Association (ECIA), will commence operation in January 2011.

The mission of the association will be to promote and improve the business environment for the authorised sales of electronic components.
