Spectrum wins microwave-assembly contract

Spectrum Control, a manufacturer of electronic solutions for the defence and medical industries, has announced that its Spectrum Microwave Business Unit has received a $13.1m (£9.1m) follow-on, multi-year production contract for a complex microwave assembly used in radio controlled improvised electronic device (RCIED) jammer systems.

The initial release, valued at $4.5m, of this multi-year contract will maintain full-rate production through February 2011.

The products will be manufactured in Spectrum Microwave’s Delmar, Delaware; and Philadelphia and State College, Pennsylvania, operations.
