NetSilicon has been selected by Phoenix Contact, of Blomberg, Germany, to provide its NET+Works system-on-a-chip embedded networking solution for Phoenix Contact’s Factory Line family of Industrial Automation components. NET+Works provides intelligent network connectivity for electronic devices and will enable Factory Line hubs and gateways to be controlled remotely via LAN or WAN.
The addition of Ethernet to the Interbus Inline station enables functional digital and analogue inputs/outputs, counters, power switches, pneumatics to function together as a self-contained system, thereby allowing control systems and computers with TCP/IP access to detect and directly control the I/O devices.
Consistent with Interbus’ open systems architecture, NET+Works further enhances the ability of users to interconnect between Programmable Logic Control systems and other forms of industrial controls.
NetSilicon’s NET+Works family of embedded network products provides control and connectivity functionality for Factory Line components, as well as full network connectivity for 10/100 Ethernet LAN, WAN, or Internet. Additionally, NET+Works comes complete with all the hardware and software elements required for network connectivity embedded on a single microprocessor.
