Rockwell Automation has received Technischer Ãœberwachungs Verein/Technical Inspection Association (TÃœV) certification for its 6556 MicroLogix clutch/brake package. The package has been designed to meet the growing safety requirements for new and existing mechanical presses worldwide.
‘Complying with global standards is necessary to do business worldwide,’ said Steve Eisenbrown, senior vice president, Automation Control & Information Group, Rockwell Automation. ‘Customers are demanding their suppliers be certified and the laws are beginning to require it – It’s the right thing to do. Rockwell Automation is committed to safety and this is one example of this initiative.’
TÃœV is internationally recognised and accredited as a certification centre and testing laboratory. They are skilled in the fields of safety and reliability. The certification is in compliance with North American, European and International safety standards.
The clutch/brake package is a lower cost PLC-based clutch/brake control package, consisting of hardware, documentation and application software. It is pre-programmed by the factory and secured in non-volatile memory; while all diagnostics and prompts can be viewed on an optional operator interface.
