Bombardier wins 57 million Euro order

Bombardier Transportation has received a 57 million Euro order from the Geneva transport authority in Switzerland for the supply of 21 ‘Cityrunner’ low-floor trams.

Bombardier Transportation has received an order from the Geneva transport authority (Transports Publics Genevois, TPG) in Switzerland for the supply of 21 low-floor trams type Cityrunner.

The contract is valued at approximately 57 million Euros. The delivery of the vehicles is scheduled to take place between mid 2004 and mid 2005. The contract includes an option for 17 additional vehicles.

The Cityrunner will be developed and manufactured by Bombardier Transportation at facilities in Vienna, Austria and Villeneuve, Switzerland. Propulsion for the vehicle will be supplied by Bombardier Transportation’s site in Mannheim, Germany.

The 42-metre long and 2.3-metre wide vehicles manufactured for Geneva can be operated bi-directionally and offer a total capacity for 243 passengers.
