Styrian places $30.2 million order

Bombardier Aerospace announced yesterday that Austria’s Styrian Spirit has signed a $30.2 million contract to purchase one Bombardier CRJ700 regional jet with an option for a second CRJ700.

Bombardier Aerospace announced yesterday that Styrian Spirit, based in Graz, Austria has signed a contract to purchase one Bombardier CRJ700 regional jet, and has taken an option on a second Bombardier CRJ700. The firm order is valued at approximately $30.2 million.

Founded in 2002, Styrian Spirit operates three Bombardier CRJ200 50-passenger jets on routes from Graz to Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Krakow and Zurich. In July 2004, the airline placed a firm order for an additional new Bombardier CRJ200 aircraft.

“Commonality between the Bombardier CRJ200 and CRJ700 aircraft in crewing, maintenance, spare parts and customer support was a major factor in choosing the Bombardier CRJ700 to meet increased capacity demands,” said Otmar Lenz, Chief Executive Officer, Styrian Spirit.

The GE CF34-8C powered CRJ700 Series has a cruise speed of Mach 0.825 and range of up to 2,000nm. The CRJ700 Series 701 seats 64 to 70 passengers, whilst the CRJ700 Series 705 seats 75 passengers in a two-class cabin.
