Speaking at the ninth international aerospace exhibition, Dubai 2005, IAE President Mark King said: “This is a significant order from ILFC which not only underlines their confidence in IAE and the V2500 but also highlights the demand in the marketplace for V2500-powered aircraft.”
ILFC already has 142 V2500-powered aircraft in operation with a further 63 on firm order. This additional order is made up of 30 firm and 15 options for Airbus A320 aircraft.
The 22,000-33,000lb of thrust V2500-A5 is available in seven different thrust settings to power the Airbus A319, A320 and A321 family of aircraft as well as the A319 Corporate Jet.
IAE is a multinational aero engine consortium whose shareholders comprise Pratt & Whitney, Rolls-Royce, the Japanese Aero Engines Corporation and MTU Aero Engines.
