Boeing and International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC) have announced a firm order for 20 787 Dreamliners with four additional options.

The order is valued at approximately $2.7 billion at list prices and deliveries are scheduled to begin in January 2010.

ILFC has ordered 698 Boeing jets since 1977 and is the first leasing company to be announced as a 787 customer.

Boeing has also received an order from LCAL (Low-Cost Aircraft Leasing) for six 787-8 Dreamliners. The order is valued at approximately $780 million at list prices. Deliveries are to begin in September 2009.

LCAL has selected Rolls-Royce’s Trent 1000 engine for a number of its 787s, and is negotiating with GE on its GEnx engine as well.
