Wythenshawe, Manchester based Renold has been awarded a £7.3m contract extension to supply couplings and gearboxes to Alstom for the New York Mass Transit Authority.
This contract is phase two of a three-phase schedule and is expected to be fulfilled over an 18 month period commencing May 2008.
Renold is a leading global manufacturer of industrial chains, specialist gearboxes and couplings. Its durable products are used in a wide variety of industries including manufacturing, transportation, energy production, steel and mining.
Renold has 13 manufacturing plants throughout the world and employs approximately 2,500 staff. The company said it is currently expanding its geographical footprint by increasing its manufacturing presence in ‘low cost countries’.
