Consortium wins TAM Airlines V2500 aero-engine order

IAE International Aero Engines has won an order valued at more than $300m (£188m) with TAM Airlines for V2500 engines to power seven Airbus A321 and three A319 aircraft.

The order includes a long-term aftermarket services agreement. The aircraft will enter service from 2011.

TAM is the largest customer in Latin America with a fleet of 84 A320-family aircraft equipped with V2500 engines, the first of which entered service in 1999.

IAE is a multinational aero-engine consortium whose shareholders comprise Pratt & Whitney, Japanese Aero Engines Corporation, MTU Aero Engines, and Rolls-Royce, whose share of the order is worth more than $100m.
