NIA appoints Capita Symonds to help with revamp

Consultuncy Capita Symonds has been appointed to provide mechanical and electrical engineering input into a feasibility study to create a new look and feel to the National Indoor Arena (NIA) in Birmingham.

This new venture follows the £29m refurbishment of the NIA’s sister venue the LG Arena, which celebrated its first birthday in October.

A budget for the revamp of the NIA will be formed at the end of the feasibility study, along with the proposed title rights and other sponsorship opportunities.

Work could start on site as early as summer 2011.
