3000 subscriptions at more than 50 sites

Solectron will implement Agile Anywhere, a Web-based suite of collaborative manufacturing solutions, at all Solectron manufacturing sites worldwide.

Agile Software Corporation, a provider of collaborative manufacturing commerce solutions, has announced that Solectron, a provider of electronics manufacturing and supply-chain management services, will implement Agile Anywhere, a Web-based suite of collaborative manufacturing solutions, at all Solectron manufacturing sites worldwide.

Agile and Solectron have entered into a contract that includes licenses for more than 3000 subscriptions at more than 50 Solectron manufacturing plants worldwide. The total value of the agreement is well in excess of 10 million dollars over several years.

Agile Anywhere is a complete suite of collaborative manufacturing commerce solutions that enable manufacturers to build private product manufacturing collaboration exchanges, totally automating the distribution and synchronisation of product content across the e-supply chain, with all information and services available through Agile eHubs.

At MyAgile.com, Agile also provides the dispersed supply chain with mission-critical eServices such as online marketplaces, custom part procurement, wireless access and components research. Agile Anywhere solutions include the Agile Product Definition Server, Agile Product Change Server, Agile AML Server, and Agile ChangeCAST.

After completing the installation of Agile Anywhere at its Milpitas headquarters, Solectron began its worldwide rollout of Agile Anywhere at the manufacturing facilities it purchased from Nortel Networks in May of 2000. Solectron has already gone live with Agile Anywhere at the former Nortel facility in Monterey, Mexico, with installations under way at the former Nortel plants in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and Raleigh, North Carolina, as well as Solectron facilities in Charlotte, North Carolina and Guadalajara, Mexico.

Solectron also uses Agile Buyer, Agile’s Internet-based sourcing and procurement solution for direct materials, in its New Product Introduction group. Agile Buyer allows the NPI group to generate complex Requests for Quotation (RFQs) in hours, instead of days; and send them to all their suppliers, worldwide, with a single mouse click.
