Analysis tool for increased production visibility

USData’s latest MES improves visibility into the production environment and enhancing manufacturers’ ability to make real-time production changes, based on better information.

Now available from USData Corporation is Analysis, the latest module in its innovative manufacturing execution system (MES), Xfactory, improving visibility into the production environment and enhancing manufacturers’ ability to make real-time production changes, based on better information.

USData Analysis is a web-enabled analysis and reporting tools, providing enterprise-wide performance visibility, production problem identification and planning facilitation. Built using TopTier Software’s patented HyperRelationalTM technology, this add-on tool is able to correlate information sources and perform cross-functional data analysis to assist in solving complex operational problems. The product integrates the supply and demand chains by providing visibility to issues surrounding the requirements of the shop floor and resource planning. As a result, the module provides improved information to the supply chain, tighter inventory control and increased profitability.

According to Andrew Kerr, USData vice president of marketing: ‘The ultimate goal of implementing any Manufacturing Execution System is increased visibility to production operations, which allows for greater communication and coordination between the plant floor and the business planning systems, and ultimately improved plant efficiency. The Analysis module of Xfactory is designed to maximise information availability in order to provide for more informed decision-making, greater responsiveness and increased competitiveness. In the continuously changing world of manufacturing, Xfactory heightens agility, and increases production control.’

The Analysis module, designed for Windows 2000, continues USData’s philosophy of ease-of-use through seamless integration to existing Xfactory applications. Xfactory and its Analysis module share a common data model, allowing the Analysis tool to quickly query a database to determine potential production and resource planning issues in real-time.
