A rugged and convenient multi-function resistance tester, launch this month, is used for testing insulation in power system wiring and motor windings.
The Fluke 1520 MegOhmMeter combines insulation resistance testing, AC/DC voltage measurement and a Lo-Ohms function, for continuity and ground connection testing, in one tool. Supplied with a simple interface, the 1520 provides insulation resistance testing up to 4000 Mohms, with three output voltages: 250, 500 and 1000V. It switches automatically to voltage sensing when connected to a live circuit with voltage over 30V and provides voltage measurement up to 600V.
Designed for demanding testing jobs, the 1520 has a large backlit LCD with analogue bar graph and digital display plus a last-reading memory display for insulation resistance and Lo-Ohms. The fast-responding analogue/digital display shows measurement changes graphically.
It also provides an autodischarge safety function so the user will not be shocked by residual voltage left on tested circuits.
