Motorola continues sell-off

Motorola has entered into an agreement to sell the equipment repair and manufacturing assets of its Phoenix-based Motorola Manufacturing Solutions (MMS) test equipment business to Telco Incorporated.

Under the agreement, Telco – a manufacturer of industrial, telecom and consumer products – will service, support and manufacture Motorola’s Mixed Signal Tester (MIST), Parametric Functional Tester Equipment (PFT) and Dedicated Digital Test Systems (DTS).

According to Motorola, these products are members of a fully automated electronic test and measurement systems family that helps electronics manufacturers automate their manufacturing processes. Telco’s Phoenix service team will continue to support the testers, which are sold globally.

Motorola is divesting the service and manufacturing of this equipment as part of the company’s on-going restructuring to refocus the company on its core strategic communications and embedded businesses.
