IBM and Siebel Systems have designed a new on-demand customer relationship management (CRM) service called Siebel CRM OnDemand.
The two companies will jointly develop, market, sell, deliver, and service the new offering, specifically designed for small and medium businesses. Individuals and companies can sign up for Siebel CRM OnDemand for a monthly subscription price of $70 per user at CRMOnDemand.
CRM business process software applications can help companies serve customers better by improving their marketing, sales, and service capabilities. It also gives them more knowledge of their customers’ businesses.
Siebel CRM OnDemand is an example of ‘software as a service’, that is, the delivery of software functions to a customer over the Internet, billed on a usage or subscription basis. With CRM OnDemand, the customer usually does not need to license code and can use CRM OnDemand if they have a personal computer with Internet access.
CRM OnDemand enables customers to start with a small CRM project, with practically zero start-up time, deploy rapidly, and expand the system as needs change over time.
The software functions are for managing activities that are usually performed by the ‘customer-facing’ parts of the business, also known as the ‘front office’: contacts, sales opportunities, products, prices, competitors, events, marketing campaigns, and customer service requests, for example. Siebel CRM OnDemand also provides lead qualification and management, and sales forecasting.
