Taipei names consortium winners

An Alstom-led consortium is set to be awarded 360 million Euros by the Department of Rapid Transit Systems of Taipei City, Taiwan to extend the capital’s metro system.

The Department of Rapid Transit Systems (DORTS) of Taipei City, Taiwan, has declared an Alstom-led consortium ‘awarded bidder’ for the Orange and Blue line extensions of the capital’s metro system.

Alstom’s partner in this consortium is China Technical Consultant Inc, CTCI.

Once the order is confirmed, Alstom’s share of this 360 million Euro contract is expected to be approximately 125 million Euros.

Alstom will be responsible for project management, system integration, the signalling and half of the track work and maintenance depot equipment.

The signalling equipment will be similar to the equipment already supplied by Alstom and in service on the Taipei network.
