At the new plant, located about 50 miles northeast of the Slovakian capital of Bratislava, Visteon will manufacture automotive interiors and climate control systems. Production is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2006, and when operational the site is expected to employ about 400 people.

Visteon currently operates 11 technical, manufacturing, sales and service facilities in three Central Eastern European Countries.

Visteon has plants in Czech Republic (Novy Jicin, Rychvald and Hluk), Poland (Praszka and Poznan) and Hungary (Szekesfehervar) that manufacture and assemble products such as automotive lighting, climate control, powertrain, chassis, and electronics components and systems.

Earlier in the year, the company disclosed that it was to build a new $80 million air conditioning compressor facility in Dalian in northeastern China. When that 25,000-square metre facility is fully operational by mid-2005, it will employ nearly 600 individuals.
