West Coast Network Services, part of the West Coast Energy Group of companies, has secured a new five year contract for Central Networks (part of E.ON), the electricity distribution company for central England, which will involve the vegetation management around the overhead line network throughout Shropshire, Staffordshire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
With the forecast increases in climate change and the possibility of greater storm frequencies, West Coast Network Services have been working closely with Central Networks over the past four years to ensure trees do not strike overhead power lines and cause interruptions in customer supplies.
Karl Lee, West Coast Network Services Managing Director comments: “I am absolutely delighted about the outcome of this tender. This contract award is the culmination of a rigorous and lengthy tender process. It is encouraging to see that our focus on quality and high customer service has borne fruit in this instance.
“I’m particularly pleased that during these times of austerity this contract award will allow us to offer full time employment across a range of disciplines from arboricultural and electrical staff to managerial and administrative positions, and is likely to involve us in the recruitment of over 80 field and support staff to deliver this contract over the next five years.”
Established in 2004 West Coast Network Services has experienced rapid organic growth over the intervening years and is now considered one of the most successful and innovative service providers in this sector. Specialising in Arboricultural and Electrical overhead line support, the company has the ability to provide a turnkey approach to contact delivery.
