Foster Wheeler to build coking unit at YPF plant

Engineering and construction group Foster Wheeler has announced that its Global Engineering and Construction Group has been awarded a contract by YPF, an Argentine state-owned oil company, for a delayed coking unit to be built at YPF’s Complejo Industrial La Plata in Argentina.

Foster Wheeler’s scope of work includes detailed engineering, procurement services and support to construction and plant start-up.

The terms of the agreement were not disclosed and the contract value was included in the company’s second-quarter 2010 bookings.

The unit will use Foster Wheeler’s Selective Yield Delayed Coking (SYDEC) technology.
