NHV Helicopters wins Schooner and Ketch contract extension

Norwich-based NHV Helicopters has been awarded a three-year extension to its contract to fly offshore workers to the Schooner and Ketch gas production platforms in the southern North Sea.

The multi-million-pound contract was awarded by gas-exploration company Tullow, which operates the two normally unmanned platforms about 100 miles north east of Norwich.

Service and maintenance visits to Ketch and Schooner are undertaken in a Eurocopter EC155 aircraft that can accommodate up to 12 passengers and two pilots.

NHV employs locally based pilots who ferry technicians and engineers to the platforms in the morning and then fly out to collect them at the end of the working day.
