Small firms win funds to carry out digital landscape research

Eight small companies have received grant funding totalling £430,000 to conduct research and development feasibility projects that address the converged nature of the digital landscape.

The funding awards follow the completion of the second part of the Technology Strategy Board-managed ‘Convergence in a Digital Landscape’ competition for feasibility funding.

The new projects are intended to focus on work that will lead to the cross-platform origination of content, the collaborative generation of ideas and business models for content based on cross-media formats and consumption.

Leading the projects are AIMES Grid Services, Animal Vegetable Mineral, BCre8ive, Inventures Software, Portal Entertainment, SAMI Consulting, StickyWorld and Thoughtified.
