Aero Sekur to design IXV recovery system for ESA

Aero Sekur has entered the detailed design and space qualification phase for the European Space Agency’s (ESA) Intermediate eXperimental Vehicle (IXV) recovery system.

The ESA is developing an atmospheric re-entry demonstrator IXV with high-performance control system and advanced thermal protection.

The recovery system, designed by Aero Sekur, comprises four floats designed to provide the buoyancy and stability required during flotation.

Following splashdown, the gassing element is activated and floats are deployed in the required configuration.
