Techcon Systems, a developer of fluid dispensing solutions, has introduced the TS8000 Dual Piston Positive Displacement (DPPD) Pump. The company claims that the two-piston, single-drive design of the pump is unique and offers numerous advantages that ‘traditional’ pumps cannot match.
Dead time, for example, is eliminated because one piston/cylinder is being refilled while the other is dispensing. When the first piston/cylinder is depleted, the other is ready to go. The TS8000 automatically switches to the full piston/cylinder so the dispensing process is never slowed or compromised.
The design, which includes a patented reciprocating dual piston, also reduces the mass of the dispensing head, which helps improve system speed and throughput.
The pump can be used to dispense a range of fluids – from encapsulants to adhesives – making it suitable for use by electronics manufacturers working with advanced component packages such as CSPs and BGAs. Capable of handling a viscosity range from 1 cps to more than 100,000,000 cps, the system’s flow rate is never affected by changing viscosity.
The TS8000 Dual Piston Positive Displacement Pump also incorporates closed loop encoder control/feedback for precise metering of fluid and dispense rate – as well as enhanced process control.
