Bombardier awarded $862 million regional jet contract

Bombardier Aerospace announced yesterday that SkyWest Airlines of has placed an order worth $862 million for 30 70-seat Bombardier CRJ700 regional jets.

Bombardier Aerospace announced yesterday that SkyWest Airlines of St George, Utah has placed a firm order for 30 70-seat Bombardier CRJ700 regional jets for the airline’s United Express operation on behalf of United Airlines. SkyWest also took options on an additional 80 Bombardier CRJ700 aircraft.

The value of the firm order is approximately $862 million, although this could increase to $3.35 billion if SkyWest exercises its 80 options.

Deliveries of the firm-ordered aircraft are scheduled to begin early in 2004 and continue through to 2005.
