Goodrich Corporation has signed a technical agreement with Honeywell to upgrade the main fuel control units of the entire fleet of FA-18 Hornets flown by the Royal Australian Air Force.

Honeywell is the OEM of the control units and under the terms of the agreement will provide modification kits and as well as technical assistance.

‘We’re honoured to be working with the Australian Air Force on this upgrade along with Honeywell,’ said Bill Walthall, President, Goodrich Customer Services. ‘Our Sydney-based team, who will be performing the work, also supports the US Navy 7th fleet FA-18 operations in Japan.’

The program will run over four years and involves the upgrade of over 150 controls. Each control will undergo a full teardown and be rebuilt with the latest hardware technology.
