EADS announced today that the Hellenic Ministry of Defence has placed an order worth 657 million Euros for 20 NH 90 military transport helicopters, with options for a further 14.

‘This is a further proof of the trust of the Greek authorities in EADS as a global and longstanding partner,’ said Philippe Camus and Rainer Hertrich, the CEOs of EADS.

‘This new step in an enlarged partnership between EADS and the Greek Ministry of Defence will also strengthen our first-class co-operation with Greek industry, in particular with the Hellenic Aerospace Industry’ said Jean-Paul Gut, Head of EADS International.

The negotiation of the contract was led under the leadership of Eurocopter with the full support of EADS, on behalf of NH Industries. EADS has been 62.5 percent share in the programme through its 100 percent subsidiary Eurocopter.

‘The NH 90 success is a further important step to reach our strategic target to increase the share of our defence revenues from 20 to 30 percent of our total revenues’, added Camus and Hertrich.
