GT-POWER linked to WERC-KIVA

Gamma Technologies and Wisconsin Engine Research Consultants plan to jointly produce an integrated software product that will combine GTI’s GT-POWER and GT-SUITE one-dimensional flow simulation with WERC’s combustion modelling in the 3D KIVA code.

The objective of the initiative is to provide diesel engine designers with a tool that will allow a simultaneous analysis and design of the fuel injection and combustion processes, under steady-state and transient engine operating conditions.

GT-SUITE already allows an integrated analysis of a fuel injection system together with the modelling of the entire engine/vehicle system. To this, the new initiative will add WERC’s 3-D diesel combustion models, to allow the assessment of the effects of injection system modifications on combustion and emissions.

This new capability will become available when GTI releases the next version of its GT-SUITE V6.1 later this year.
