Austin, TX-based SigmaTel has acquired Oasis Semiconductor for $57 million in cash.

Mixed signal IC vendor SigmaTel has acquired Oasis Semiconductor for $57 million in cash. An additional payment of up to $25 million will be paid if the Oasis business hits certain revenue milestones in 2006.

The acquisition of Oasis allows the Austin, TX-based SigmaTel to offer Oasis’ Multi-function Printer (MFP) system controllers to its customer base in addition to its existing offering of digital audio and video ICs.

Oasis Semiconductor, based in Waltham, MA, with an office in Yokohama, was named the Second Fastest-Growing Technology Company in the Deloitte ‘New England Technology Fast 50’ in 2004.

Its products provide the core system control for printers, photo-printers, copiers, scanner and fax machines. Currently, they can be found in products from Canon, Sagem and Sharp.
