Grayson manufactures cooling, heating and air conditioning products for buses and coaches, specialist off-highway vehicles and refuse collection vehicles. In the period April to June 2007 Grayson achieved turnover of £3.9m compared with £2.8m in the same months in 2006, and also increased its profits.
Sales were up by nearly 40 per cent, which the company attributes to a continuing growth in orders for Original Equipment (OE) from specialist bus and coach and utility vehicle manufacturers.
Grayson said significant investment has been made in equipment, training and process improvements to facilitate this diversification, including a sum in excess of £400,000 over the past 12 months.
The company has been investing in new product development over the last two years, during which time they developed Grayson’s next generation all-aluminium coolers. These are designed to offer optimum performance and durability, combined with a reduction in weight of around 30 per cent, and 100 per cent recyclability.
Grayson also said it enhanced its quality team with a view to achieving zero product failures for products manufactured throughout 2008.
